Bill Rendell is the Proprietor & Manager of the Heritage Building Centre.

Established over 30 years ago we gained our credentials as a recycler of building materials long before the word recycling came into vogue. In 1981 we began to specialise in rescuing & restoring a wide range of timbers & original period items from some of Sydney’s oldest & most prestigious buildings tagged for demolition. Now the task has expanded Australia wide & includes road & rail bridges, farm, mine sites & the like.

The understandable demand for sustainable but ethically sourced timber has increased dramatically. In line with this demand & apart from widening our catchment we have now decided to demonstrate to the market place how new timber can be sourced in a sustainable manner by only from procuring new timber from plantation &/or regrowth forests.

stylish different uniqueTo compliment our continued growth in recycled timber we now process the bulk of recycled timber through our mill in Kandos (near Mudgee). Here we have 15 acres to store unprocessed timber then mill it to our customers requirements be it wide board flooring, large section structural, feature beams or posts as well as a myriad of other demands.

Rockdale is primarily our retail arm & contains the bulk of our finished stock. It also houses our restoration services for period windows, doors, lead lighting, lighting, fountains/statuary & fireplaces as well as our custom milling operation, cabinetmakers & floor layers.
